THE FIFTH WINDOW

The story of Freddy, who is a sensitive and an imaginative boy, being an only child to well meaning parents. Freddy’s life is ruined by bullying. The family experience the world of ‘professionals’ in authority who are seen as little better than the actual bullies they appear to defend in order to protect their own positions.

Freddy deteriorates and plans to end his life, but it is at this time that he meets Avery, a man having a manner and understanding that isn’t normally encountered. Through the support and guidance that Avery gives, Freddy turns his life around, gaining confidence and working towards fulfilling his potential.

The lessons and suggestions are philosophical and thought provoking; and the more Freddy learns the more he comes to question the actual essence of his friend and guide who has shown him the great possibilities that exist.

Is the man that Freddy has met really an ‘other world’ figure? Is he a ‘helper’ who has entered Freddy’s life to save him? He imparts upon Freddy the capacity to approach his life in a different manner and by doing so to break down self limiting thinking through the use of the imagination and gaining a different perspective; the story considers a wisdom that is at all our fingertips, but we haven’t yet learned how to clean the fifth window.
